Frequently Asked Questions
What day do you meet?
We meet on Tuesdays throughout the school year.
What time does co-op start?
We check in at co-op at 10:15 a.m. as announcements start promptly at 10:30 a.m. Third hour classes end at 2:30 p.m.
How often do you meet?
We meet once a week for three 8-week quarters, September-May. We break for the holidays at the beginning of November and resume at the beginning of January. See our schedule for additional days off.
Do I have to participate as the parent?
YES! Parents are expected to attend and participate in all three hours of co-op. After attending for one year, everyone must take the responsibility of being a teacher, co-teacher or steering committee member as needed. We are a healthy co-op when all participate in a positive way.
What does it cost to join your co-op?
$40 annual registration fee per family
$25 per nursery-age child (0-2 years)
$75 per class-age child (3+ years)
Occasionally certain classes require additional supplies or fees. You will be given that information before registering for those kinds of classes, and those classes are always optional. Fields trips are also optional: some are free, while others have a cost.
What ages do you offer classes for?
We have preschool to high school classes. We also have a nursery for siblings age two and under. To join our co-op, each family must be homeschooling at least one school-aged child, kindergarten age 5 or up.
Is financial assistance available?
Payment arrangements may be made on a case-by-case basis by contacting our steering committee.
What does the cost cover?
Membership and class fees include special event expenses, pizza parties (one each quarter), class expenses, copies, general co-op supplies, nursery supplies, website fees, insurance and organization. Note: field trips are optional and not included in our fees.
Do you have a high school graduation ceremony?
Our co-op has sponsored homeschool graduation ceremonies in the past. At this time we do not have a graduation ceremony scheduled for 2020.
Where do you meet?
We meet in Wadsworth, Ohio.
What classes are you currently offering?
Village will not be meeting for a spring session due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
